On August 11th, today, prominent billboards located in PAVILION, WOLO, Fahrenheit, and other notable spots resounded with the voice of Leehom. An unexpected revelation echoed forth – the announcement of the upcoming ONE LEEHOM WANG Concert in Malaysia, scheduled for November 10th and 11th, 2023.
Casa Entertainment Group, the organizing entity, is thrilled to declare their collaboration with Kwan’s International Co., Ltd., in presenting the much-anticipated Malaysian segment of the “ONE LEEHOM WANG” tour. It has been four years since Leehom’s last appearance in Malaysia, igniting tremendous anticipation among his fans. The success of the ONE LEEHOM WANG concert in locations like Las Vegas, USA, and its excellent box office performance in Bangkok, Taipei, and other venues further fuel this excitement. Meek Loo, Chief Marketing Officer of Casa Entertainment Group, expressed, “This concert underscores Leehom’s fervor and commitment as a global musician, brilliantly showcasing his artistic prowess. Leehom extends his heartfelt gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support, and through this concert, he revisits the essence of music and its authentic purpose.”
As customary, Leehom Wang assumes the role of the music director for the “ONE LEEHOM WANG” concert, under the guidance of Jamie Wilson, assembling an ensemble of global musicians who will harmonize alongside him. Jamie Wilson has maintained a close collaboration with Wang Leehom since the “Gai Shi Hero World Tour” in 2006, a partnership so seamless that Leehom once lauded, “Jamie has yet to strike a discordant note or an errant chord.” Bassist Casey Subramaniam, a luminary figure in the music scenes of Malaysia and Singapore, boasts a dual identity as both a singer and a songwriter. With a coveted accolade as the recipient of the Best New Artist Award, Casey has cultivated a decade-long artistic kinship with Leehom.
Hailing from the realm of Malaysian musical artistry, keyboardist Aubrey Suwito stands as a celebrated producer and songwriter, garnering a slew of prestigious awards. As the keyboardist for the esteemed diva Siti Nurhaliza and an alumnus of the esteemed Berklee College of Music, Aubrey Suwito mirrors Leehom’s journey. The rhythmic heartbeat of the ensemble, drummer Sarah Thawer, renowned by the moniker “Sarah Drums,” traces her roots to Indian heritage and possesses an extraordinary drumming prowess. Commencing her musical voyage at the tender age of five, Sarah has collaborated extensively with internationally acclaimed virtuosos, including the revered A.R. Rahman, often dubbed the patriarch of Indian music.
This illustrious assembly of musicians, alongside the virtuosity of Leehom Wang, promises to transport the audience on a captivating auditory expedition, poised to reverberate profoundly among music enthusiasts worldwide.
The grand presentation of “ONE LEEHOM WANG” is slated for November 10th and 11th, gracing the Cloudstar Theater. Leehom Wang remains the same impassioned music aficionado, unwaveringly devoted to his craft, forever evoking a heartfelt connection with his audience.
